Final Pictures

It's supposed to be our moving day, but unfortunately there was a paperwork hold up with the buyers of our current house. This pushed everything back, so now we're looking at moving (hopefully) Thursday. Our new home is done and ready however, so enjoy the finished pictures :)

Almost done!!

It was a flurry of activity around the house today. The outside is almost completely done. We need to add our shutters (black) and gutters still need to go on, but it's looking good.
There are also changes on the inside. Lighting is all in, as well as appliances and faucets. We're very happy with the results.
One of the things we did was incorporate a light from each of our previous homes. It will be fun to think of the journey to our "dream home", when we remember the homes that we celebrated the first few years of our lives together in. The entry light is the same as our Colonial Hills home, and the master closet light is the same as the one in our current house's hallway.
Tomorrow Tyler will start laying the wood floors. It will be a busy few days, but we're excited to see the end result!

Crazy busy, but sure looks good!!

We just wanted to update with some pictures of the weekend's progress. The tile flooring and fireplace tile is now installed, and the counters/sinks are as well. The grouting is being finished up today, but it's looking good. At times we wonder what we were thinking, taking all this on with two small kiddos :). Looking forward to enjoying a glass (or two :) of wine on the covered porch when we're all moved in. More updates coming soon...

Update on the Changes

As life goes, we have fallen a bit behind on our blog updates. While we have been busy, the house has been moving forward. Here are the updates... The concrete is down. We have a driveway, front sidewalk (again), walkway and back patio. It's nice to not have to walk over the dirt (lately mud) to get to the house anymore. We also have inside changes. I'll skip right to the good pictures. We now have trim, fireplace mantel, cabinets and paint. The painters made a little mistake and painted the green color in the wrong bathroom, but that will be corrected before we move in. Here are the pictures... Things are about to get crazy in our family, as work to lay the flooring (tile and hardwood) hang the fans and set the counter tops. It will all be worth it in a few short weeks though. We'll be moving in before we know it. Will keep you updated...

Can't forget the exterior & closing date info

We're super excited! We got our final schedule up to closing and it appears we will be closing on October 25th. Only 1 more month!! There is so much to do that this next month will fly by! While we are still waiting for the exterior siding to be installed, we can't forget to update with pictures of the completed brick. We think it turned out great and are very happy with the color.

Can we just move in?

Seeing the interior of our house begining to look more completed makes us want to move our furniture in and get settled :). The drywall is now up and we are just waiting for the rooms to be taped and mudded. It is so fun to see actual rooms and be able to picture our furniture in them. Here are some pictures... The first is the dining room, taken from the kitchen
The living room
The basement rec room
We're starting to get our paint together to paint the accent walls and basement rec room. The main color of our house (to be painted by the builder) will be the color "wicker". We used this in our Skylark house and loved the warmth and flexibility of this color. We will have white trim and doors.
The accent wall in our dining room will be the same accent color we have in our current kitchen (color is rustique). We will use this color on the wall with the sliding door. We haven't yet nailed down the color we will use above the fireplace, but we're thinking it might be similar to the other color on the sample (taos taupe).
Speaking of fireplaces, we've picked out our ledgestone. We have a black insert and will have a white mantel around the fireplace. Here are some pictures of the ledgestone... As far as other accent colors. Grace will have a petal pink accent wall in her room, and the theme of her room will be "butterflies" (she chose this). Hannah's room, and the main bathroom will be a sage green color called thicket.
For the master bedroom, we have fallen in love with this blue color below for an accent wall. Now to find the perfect sample match...
Lastly, our basement color is a grey blue color called Jubilee (not our house, but the color is the same). Looking at the pictures, the bedroom accent wall we want looks very similar to the jubilee photo. Hmmm...maybe we'll get extra use out out of our basement paint :).
